Cathy Coughlan
PMIA Senior Academic Fellow

Cathy Coughlan is a proactive, results-oriented professional with over 15 years’ experience in finance and more than 20 years working with International Protection Applicants and immigrant communities in the non-governmental sector. Qualified in Development and Intercultural Studies, Policy Influence, Diversity, and Integration, she combines financial expertise with a passion for technology, innovation, and inclusion. Cathy has led projects that drive sustainable community growth through strategic planning, capacity building, and volunteer management. Skilled in fundraising, budgeting, and partnership development, she is committed to advancing equality and enhancing organizational impact through collaboration and innovative approaches.

David Nyaluke
PMIA Senior Academic Fellow
(The South West)

Dr. David Nyaluke is the Education for Sustainable Development Officer at University College Cork (UCC), helping embed the UN Sustainable Development Goals across teaching, research, and student life. Formerly the UCD–Proudly Made in Africa Fellow in Business and Development, he led teaching on “Doing Business in and with Africa” and “Sustainable Development” in UCD and partner institutions. A Tanzanian native with a PhD in Political Economy and Development Studies from Dublin City University, David’s research focuses on Africa’s development and sustainability. He co-authored Challenging Perceptions of Africa in Schools (Routledge, 2020) and serves as Vice-Chair of the African Scholars Association of Ireland.

Abdallah Abusamra

Abdallah Abusamra is a recent MPhil graduate in Applied Intercultural Communication from Trinity College Dublin and joins Proudly Made in Africa as a Research Intern. His research explores identity, integration, and ethical storytelling.

With experience across education, communications, and community-based media, Abdallah is passionate about advancing research-driven narrative change. He is committed to amplifying African and Global South perspectives within Global Citizenship Education and promoting more inclusive and ethical approaches to storytelling and representation in global learning.

Raj Mavrik

Raj Mavrik is a creative entrepreneur, cybersecurity expert, and founder of Cinemagnetix (CMX), a high-impact creative agency, and Sage of Cyber Paths, an innovative technology startup. With an engineering background and a master’s degree in cybersecurity, Raj has worked with leading global organisations while building a dynamic career in content production, storytelling, and business consulting. Passionate about the intersection of technology and creativity, he leverages digital innovation to drive purposeful impact. As host of the Proudly Made in Africa Podcast, Raj champions African voices, trade justice, and sustainable business, inspiring global audiences toward ethical and inclusive enterprise.

Dr Adeniyi Olarewajuke
PMIA Academic Fellow

Dr. Adeniyi D. Olarewaju, fondly known as Larrie, is a multiple award-winning educator with over 20 years of experience spanning academia, business, and consulting. A respected scholar in international business, strategy, and entrepreneurship, he also mentors individuals in personal finance and leadership.

Dr. Olarewaju serves as Team Lead at AOG Hospitality, where he applies his expertise in project management and hospitality consulting to drive organisational excellence. His passion for education continues through his teaching role at Heirs Holdings, where he is dedicated to inspiring and developing future leaders through innovation, mentorship, and transformative learning.

Dr. Fernandos Ongolly
PMIA Senior Academic Fellow
(UCD & Smurfit)

Dr. Fernandos Ongolly is a Kenyan anthropologist whose work explores technology adaptation, health innovation, activism, immigration, behavioural science, and implementation science. He is currently completing his PhD at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, with extensive experience conducting ethnographic research in health, higher education, business, and innovation contexts in Ireland and Kenya. Fernandos serves as the Proudly Made in Africa Fellow at University College Dublin and as a Postgraduate Research Associate at the Centre for Health Research Methodology, University of Galway. His research bridges social science and innovation, advancing understanding of how technology and culture shape sustainable development.

Killian Stokes
CEO

Killian Stokes is an award-winning social entrepreneur with over 25 years’ experience across the international tech and non-profit sectors. He is the exited co-founder of Moyee Coffee (Ireland & UK), a pioneering social enterprise bringing FairChain, African-roasted coffee to homes and workplaces while promoting equitable global value chains.

Passionate about responsible business and sustainable development, Killian works to advance trade justice and ethical enterprise. He is a frequent lecturer and speaker at universities across Ireland, sharing insights on social entrepreneurship, impact-driven business, and Africa’s role in global supply chains.

Ciara Donlon
Fundraising Trustee & Board Member

Ciara Donlon is the founder and CEO of THEYA Healthcare, a company specializing in sustainable post-surgical lingerie for women. With a background in corporate marketing at Vodafone, RBS, and Irish Life, she later ran her own lingerie business before launching THEYA in 2015. Recognizing the need for comfortable, healing-focused underwear for breast cancer patients, she developed award-winning bamboo-based designs. Under her leadership, THEYA Healthcare has gained international recognition for innovation and sustainability. Ciara is a strong advocate for female entrepreneurship and ethical business. She regularly speaks on social impact, sustainability, and women’s health.

Sandra Conway
Chair of the Board & Legal Trustee

Sandra Conway is a legal and policy expert with over 20 years’ experience spanning the NGO, public, and private sectors. With a background in human rights and corporate law, she has worked extensively on legal affairs, governance, and policy development.

Sandra has contributed to leading organisations including Transparency International Ireland, Front Line Defenders, the National Women’s Council of Ireland, and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). She has also served as an Election Observer for the European Commission in Nigeria, Russia, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, and Lebanon, promoting democracy and human rights worldwide.

Oluwasegun Seriki
Board Trustee

Dr. Oluwasegun “Seg” Seriki is a seasoned international project manager with extensive experience spanning Africa, Asia and Europe in construction, engineering and higher education innovation. He holds a PhD in a field aligned with technology and development and has worked across three continents facilitating complex programmes and partnerships.

At Construction Cluster Ireland he supports industry-academia collaboration, while in academia he contributes to teaching and research in engineering and cross-disciplinary development. Seg combines a strong technical foundation with strategic and intercultural insight, dedicated to bridging infrastructure, innovation and inclusive growth.
