Africas increasing coffee consumption could see growth in sector : November 2015

Although Africa produces a large percentage of the world’s coffee, its consumption is very small in comparison. Take for instance the Cote d'Ivoire who produce 13% of Africa’s coffee but their per capita coffee consumption is 0.9kg compared to Brazil at 6kg or the average EU consumer at 9kg. Despite the decline in cost of coffee annually there is a prediction that with the growth of Africa’s middle class amongst other factors, coffee consumption across the continent will increase!
